Bianca Tangande †
Quiet
Summer exhibition from July 5 to August 15, 2015.
Bianca Tangande graduated from the Royal Art Academy in Den Bosch in 1979.
She has Indonesian and African roots. Her background inspires her to work with colors and patterns from these cultures.
She uses many skills in her work to merge rhythms and patterns. In addition to painting and drawing, she uses graphic printing techniques such as textile, wood and ceramic screen prints based on her photography, the subject of which includes her daughters.
The printed fabrics that Tangande produces are draped and modeled into headgear.
The exuberance, exotic and linear aspect of her work is inspired by the work of French artist Henri Matisse and English artist David Hockney.
During the closing of this exhibition, Bianca Tangande will give a dance performance with flautist Paul Seeley on Saturday, August 15 at 2:30 p.m., after which special snacks and drinks will be served until 5:00 p.m.
