    French fries with sour faces

Boxmeers Weekblad, Wednesday May 14, 1997

BEUGEN - Last Sunday, the exhibition Patats with sour faces by the artist Ernie Bossmann was opened in the Alarm artists' center in Beugen. The exhibition can be seen on May 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 and on June 1. Alarm's opening hours are Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Artist Ernie Bossmann about her work: "In my work I leave the traces of the making visible; I do not write them down. An image must show that it has been made. I show fragments, do not tell the whole story. There is room for other conclusions and for hesitations. The form must be compact; an image is a point of concentration (of thoughts) in the space. Making an exhibition is not essentially different from making an image. The space functions in relation to the image like white lines in a poem. It partly determines the choice I make of my work, and it can become the starting point for a new series. Showing the work should provide a reason to complete an existing design."
