Esther den Brok
Baku
The Baku is an animal from Japanese mythology that eats nightmares. Ceramics, mixed media, delicate objects, a braincase, a giant nightmare catcher, a golden pot, all sprouted from the swirling brain of Esther den Brok will be on display during the 'BAKU' exhibition in the Museum of All Times and art space ALARM.
In Esther den Brok's mysterious works, dreams, nightmares, reality and fantasy alternate. Landscapes in which things are hidden that sometimes want to be found and sometimes not. Objects that seem to have escaped from the canvas or want to hide in it. Different worlds collide and the separation between dream and reality becomes blurred.
Once again, Ans Verdijk will enter into dialogue with the works of den Brok in the ALARM art space with a selection of her own oeuvre.
The exhibition runs from March 27 to May 8, 2022.
Sunday April 3 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM meeting with the artists.
