Jacky Geurts
Burnt leaf green
Jacky Geurts, glass artist from Beugen exhibits in Beugen. Come and see it, it can also be viewed during the fair, a nice change to view her special work.
Ever more, ever further, ever forward. We are surrounded by fast systems, fixed patterns, pre-made choices. But do we all fit into the same box? Do we want to go in the same direction? Thoughts that also occupy Jacky Geurts on her daily walks. She enjoys being outside and pays attention to the smallest details while walking. In the meantime, she also reflects on our crooked relationship with nature; we tear down when we should be nurturing.
In her work Geurts searches for a way between these sensations. She wants to do justice to the beauty of nature and express her concern about its loss due to human behavior. Glass is her favorite material. Red hot while working on the burner. Seductive and vulnerable result, with the imperfections of handicraft. Of course no mass production for Geurts.
With her studio in Beugen, she is almost a neighbor of Alarm/the MVAT. Close to home this summer, she will show her own teeming world, where it is teeming beneath the surface. Jacky Geurts' vegetable system can be seen from August 8 to 25. Carefully! Fragile!
