    Crazy pelvic machine

The Gekkebekkentrekmachine is an installation in which Moniek Smeets brings photos of herself to life in a stunningly simple way.

The installation in Alarm is set in motion by motors and light, among other things. You don't have to do much, just open your eyes. During the installation in the museum, on the other hand, you are put to work.

Don't dwell on viewing this installation. Move from front to back, bend your knees, make rocking movements with your hips, push off your feet, jump and be amazed at what your flexibility can do when viewing these self-portraits.

In addition to being a visual artist, Moniek Smeets is also a theater maker. Together with Bram Wiersma, she has created visual theater, light and participatory installations under the name Wiersma & Smeets for many years.

From July 1 to September 3 in Museum of All Times and Art Space ALARM.
